$350 per month is about R3 000 per month (for my South African readers) and I think I may have been able to make that much each month from this site already had I added more than just 26 articles to this site in the past 19 months.
I'm actually going to work with the figure of 24 articles to do some maths now, because my earnings from this site stayed roughly the same, on average each month, after adding 24 articles to the site, even when I added only 2 new articles in the next 12 months after those first 24 articles! This is my 27th article, I added the 26th article a little while earlier today, and the 25 article 6 months ago. I added the 24th article 6 months before that!
This site keeps earning me money even when I go a good few months without writing and adding any new articles to it!
But my earnings from this site are not all that much ( R1 252 in 19 months is an average of about only R65 per month over the past 19 months ) (about $7.60 per month) - but then I can't expect too much when these earnings have come from only 24 to 25 articles that I added in 19 months (added no.26 and this one no.27 today only.) But at least this site is a totally free site; no domain registration and hosting costs, or domain registration and hosting renewals.
Imagine if I'd added 20 articles a month instead of less than 2 a month on average - maybe, just maybe, my earnings would have been R650 per month (about $76), on average, instead!
Now, if you look at my previous article where I listed each month's earnings over the past 6 months (yes, still earned even though I didn't add any new articles in the past 6 months - actually added only 1 new article in the past 12 months, and still earned!) you will see that I worked out that it may be possible, that once I have gotten my average monthly earnings up to an income I am happy with (by adding new articles to increase traffic to this site) then it seems that I may have to add only one new article every 4 to 9 weeks to maintain that average monthly income.)
So, to see if it works out, and to help my readers consider doing the same, ot something similar, I hope I can find the time to conduct an experiment.
My experiment would be to see if I can more rapidly increase my monthly earnings from this site, by making a greater effort at adding new articles to it, more frequently. Of course adding new articles to a site generally helps increase traffic to that site (and thus helps increase earnings from that site too, for the person who writes articles for that site) but I wonder how long it would take me to reach earnings of say $350 per month. (Then I could report back on how long it took, and on how many articles I wrote to get that point.)
Of course earnings can be increased in other ways too, like by getting more traffic to a site by leaving links to a site (or to different pages of that site) on other sites, but, although I do have some links on other sites coming to this site from other sites, and may still get a few more links from other sites, I'd like to see how simply writing and adding many more articles to this site can help.
I could report on progress along the way (and each time I write a report, that's a new article for this site at the same time!)
I wish I had already been writing and adding many new articles to this site, in the past 19 months, but onward now with a new plan.
Let me try and do some maths to guess how long it might take me to get my earnings on this site up to about R3 000 (currently about $350) per month (after which I think I may have to write and add only one new article every 4 to 9 weeks to maintain those earnings.)
If adding less than 2 new articles each month over the past 19 months earned me an average of R65 per month over the past 19 months, then perhaps had I added 20 articles per month instead, my earnings would now have been averaging out at about R650 per month, instead of just R65 per month.
But I want to earn R3 000 per month from this site. Eish, was never great at maths:
It's basically 24 articles that earned me my R65 per month.
If earnings remain roughly constant when related to how many new articles I write and add, then 240 articles would have maybe earned me R650 per month average.
and, 2 400 articles would have earned me maybe R6 500 per month
so, 1 200 articles would have earned me maybe R3 250 per month - let's work with that figure:
How long will it take me to add 1 200 (less 27 articles with this one) = 1 173 articles to this site?
If I could add 20 new articles a month, it will take me 5 years to add 1 200 new articles to this site
If I could add 30 new articles a month, it will take me 3 years and 4 months.
If I could add 45 new articles a month (one and a half a day) it will take me nearly 2 years 7 months
If I could add 60 new articles a month (2 per day) it will take me 1 year 8 months
If I could add 90 new articles a month (3 per day) it will take me about 1 year and 3 months
If I could add 120 new articles a month (4 per day) it will take me about 10 months
Argggh, hard work, and where will I find the time to do other things like work? (I'm a freelancer, and when I don't work at that, I don't earn money from that.) I also have a few other sites that I should add a new article to from time to time, to increase or maintain the passive income earnings I make from those sites.
But still, I would like to attempt to add as many new articles to this site as I can. I think I've said that before (and didn't do anything about it) but in my last article on this site it became clearer to me that once I am earning an income from this site that I am happy with, each month, I may only have to add one new article every 4 to 9 weeks to keep receiving those monthly earnings. That's a great reward to work towards.
Also, depending on how rapidly traffic increases to this site as I pay more attention to adding new articles to it, and also depending on if I spend a little time on getting more links to this site from other sites, and also if I spend a little time on carefully choosing phrases and words to put in my articles (SEO tactics) then my traffic (and earnings) may increase to a level I am happy with before the estimated time periods in my calculations further above.

Update on How Much Money this Free Blog has Made me
I see I have not added a new post to this Make Money Use Internet blog in about 6 months. Bad of me! Why bad? This site does not cost me any domain registration or hosting renewals; it's a free site, and it makes me some money, so I should have been trying to add some new articles to it more regularly. Writing and adding more articles to this site helps increase traffic (visitors) to this site, and thus helps increase my earnings from this site.
I thought I would do an update on how much money this free blog has made me. I last wrote about how much money this free blog has made me about 6 months ago - even then, I had not added a new article in the previous 6 months, but what was so great was that this site still made me some money during those months that I didn't bother to add any new articles. I'm curious to check if earnings continued in the next 6 months after that, from then until now, at roughly the same rate, or if my earnings decreased.
Have a look at that last article I wrote about how much money this free blog has made me to see a list of a breakdown for each month (how many articles I wrote and added to this site each month, and how much money this site earned me each month, from when I first started with this site in January 2011 - you will note that even in months that I added no new articles to this site, I still earned money from this site.)
This site is now 19 months old, and this is the 26th article I'm adding to it (an average of less than 2 articles a month). How I wish I'd added about 20 new articles to this site each month instead, as that would have made this article roughly the 380th article I'm adding to this site, instead of only the 26th. I suspect my earnings from this site may have been as much as ten times more than they are now, had I added 20 articles a month instead of only 2. Maybe, maybe not (that much more) but still a much greater chance of increased earnings had I added many more articles each month over the past 19 months than I have been adding.
Here's an extended list of what's been happening with my earnings from this site since 6 months ago:
(see the previous list for earnings before this list)
December 2011 (the month before I wrote the previous article on how much money this site has made me):
No new articles added --- earnings R84.69
January 2012
1 new article added (the article that told how much this site had earned me up until that date)
earnings for January 2012 --- R44.52
February 2012
no new articles added --- R106.71 ( currently about $12.45 )
March 2012
no new articles added --- R76.02
April 2012
no new articles added --- R80.55
May 2012
no new articles added --- R29.23
June 2012
no new articles added --- R4.87
So far this month, July 2012 (today is 24 July 2012)
no new articles added - other than this one I'm busy adding right now
R43.60
Conclusions:
Although June 2012 took a severe knock, things seem to be bouncing back up again for this month - this is promising when I haven't added any new articles in the past 6 months. And if I think about it, besides this article that I'm busy with right now, I added only 1 article in the past 12 months - and have still continued to earn money each month just from the other articles I had already added before that! Jeepers, I should have been writing and adding many more articles whenever I got the chance to.
Comparison between earnings for the 6 months (when I added only 1 article in the first of those 6 months) before the last article,
and,
the earnings for the most recent last 6 months (when I added nothing new other than that last article 6 months ago, until adding this article)
month 7 to month 12 --- R578.96
( using a currency converter on 24 July 2012, that's about $67 )
month 13 to month 18 (month 18 being last month, June 2012) ---R341.90
( using a currency converter on 24 July 2012, that's about $40 )
What does this tell me?
The decrease in earnings for the second lot of 6 months tells me that even if I do continue earning without adding any new articles to this site, my earnings may drop off a little. And the best thing to do is to keep adding new articles whenver I get the chance to. It would seem, however, that simply to maintain whatever earnings I was making on average per month 6 months ago, I may have had to add only 1 new article every month, or only even every 2 months.
Once I've got my earnings on this site up to a monthly income I'm happy with, I'm pleased to know, now, that adding only one article every month or every two months after that, seems likely to be enough to maintain monthly earnings from this site.
Let's say for example that this site can eventually earn me about R3 000 per month (currently about $350), after I add considerably more articles to it, and if I was happy to then stop adding new articles to try and increase my income further - then to maintain that income each month into the future, all I would have to do is add one new article every 4 to 9 weeks! Cool! That would be R3 000 per month for about only 2 hours work a month!
Of course it may not pan out like that, but it may, so I'm being optimistic and looking forward to that time - I'm not going to get there or even find out if that approach would really work, though, if I don't start adding quite a few new articles to this site - the more I add, and the sooner that I do, the sooner I can get closer to trying to reach my goals!
Of course I could also NOT write anything new for this site (although I think to keep readers happy and make this site not seem outdated or old, I would still add one new article every 4 to 9 weeks) I could also work at increasing traffic to this site in other ways, besides writing tons of new articles for the site - I could for example link to this site more, or to articles on this site, from other sites.
Anyway, bottom line:
You can make money with a free site - maybe less than me, maybe more than me, but you can do it!
Note:
to make money from your site in the same way that I am making money from this site, you would need an Adsense account - the previous article in which I detailed my earnings made from this site up to that stage explains a little more about how Adsense works (it's a free program, so there are no costs involved in joining Adsense, but read the article to get a better idea of how it helps me make money on this site.)

How Much Money a Totally Free Blogsite has made me
This totally free blogsite Make Money Use Internet does not cost me a cent, yet it makes me money every month. But doesn't having Internet and a computer cost money? Yes, but I have Internet and a computer anyway. I use the Internet to do some research for the work I do from home, for watching YouTube videos, for visiting FaceBook, and so on.
So how does this free blogsite make me money and how much money does it make me?
Even though it's been 6 months since I last added a new blog post (a blog post is an article just like this one is) I still earn money from this site each month.
I got this site and started adding articles to it in January 2011. Let's have a look at how many articles I added to it each month, and the amounts I earned at the end of each month:
January 2011 --- 15 articles --- R25.13
(20 January 2012 currently $3.15)
February 2011 --- 2 articles --- R41.42 ($5.19)
March 2011 --- 3 articles --- R52.06
April 2011 --- 1 article --- R36.72
May 2011 --- 2 articles --- R55.01 ($6.91)
June 2011 --- 0 --- R77.81
July 2011 --- 1 article --- R34.09
August 2011 --- 0 --- R97.69 ($11.88)
September 2011 --- 0 --- R64.57
October 2011 --- 0 --- R110.81 ($13.91)
November 2011 --- 0 --- R187.11 ($23.48)
December 2011 --- 0 --- R84.69
Today is the 20th of January 2011 and my earnings have been R34.02 ($4.27) so far this month
Total earnings since I started this site nearly 13 months ago:
R901.13 ($113.13)
Hm, now imagine if I'd bothered to add more than just 24 articles over the last 13 months. Of course earnings may fluctuate, but I still very much think my earnings would have been considerably greater had I bothered to add more articles. I still can add more articles, though (here's one right now)
These earnings may not seem like much to you, but what I find so great is how little work I had to do to earn it. It's passive income - look at the earnings for November 2011 --- R187.11. What did I do with this site that month to earn that amount? Nothing! - the work had already been done when I wrote and added articles at an earlier time.
R901.13 could also be called the amount I was paid to write 24 articles and add them to this blog - that's about R37.54 ($4.71) an article - not too bad - and, if I didn't add another article to this site in 2012, and my earnings averaged out roughly the same each month as they did in 2011, then at the end of 2012 I would have earned a total of about R1 802.26 ($226.28) (or about R75.08 ($9.42) per article for those 24 articles)
But because I think simply writing and adding more articles often can increase my monthly earnings, I'm going to try and find the time to do that more often rather than wait another year to earn another R900.
Maybe, just maybe, had I added 72 articles in 2011 instead of just 24, my earnings may have tripled. And if I think about it, 72 articles in a year is only 6 articles a month - not too much work. What if I'd added 20 articles a month?
How did I earn this money?
I got a Google Adsense account. I'm an Adsense publisher. I have Google Adwords displaying on some of my sites and when these ads are clicked when a visitor to my sites wants to know more about what that ad is saying, I earn a small commission.
Making money with Google adsense is not as easy as it may seem, and there are rules to follow too, but I find that it's worth putting in the effort to know and follow the rules, and to write and add some articles, as well as pay a little attention to SEO and linking to my articles from other sites, to enable me to make some passive income from the articles I write and publish on my sites.

My Constant Content Earnings
I have just 7 articles on Constant Content so far, but plan to submit more articles to Constant Content soon.
All 7 of my articles on Constant Content I offer with usage rights only. This means that I can also publish them on other sites, and that I can sell them again and again on Constant Content. Somebody might come along and visit Constant Content and buy one of my articles, then later another person might come along and can also buy the same article.
I decide my own selling price for my articles on Constant Content. When one is sold, Constant Content keeps 35% of the amount, and pays the remaining 65% to my PayPal account.
Constant Content writers can also sell their articles with full rights. This means that the article cannot be previously published anywhere else, and must not be published anywhere else later either, and that the buyer can do with the article whatever he or she pleases to, even attach his or her own name as the author, if he/she likes. This may sound awful to some writers, but selling an article with full rights also generally means you can sell it for considerably more than you would an article where you are offering usage rights only.
I am considering trying to write and sell some articles on Constant Content with full rights only, but for now, my 7 articles there are offered with usage rights only.
I cannot suddenly start offering them with fullrights only, as some of them are also published elsewhere.
Should I write a new article and submit it to Constant Content with full rights, and it doesn't sell after a while, I can consider changing it to usage rights only, and drop the price (even though I drop the price at least it may sell 2 or 3 or 4 or more times.)
My Constant Content Earnings:
I joined Constant Content in the middle of August 2010.
5 of my 7 articles on Constant Content have not yet been bought.
The remaining 2 have each been bought 3 times, so that's 6 article sales made.
When quite a while went by with no sales made, I dropped the prices a little.
The two articles I have sold 3 times each so far are entitled "Improve SEO by Doing Competitor Website Analysis" and "Meta Tag Relevancy is Still Important for SEO."
I sold the first one mentioned for $14, $14 and $12.
The second one mentioned I sold for $17, $17 and $15.
That's a total of $89. Less the 35% Constant Content keeps is $57.85 (currently about R399.). This is in just under 7 months. But remember this is from just having addded a total of a mere 7 articles to Constant Content, offering usage rights only, and simply just leaving them there for visitors to the site to see, and perhaps purchase. These articles can still earn me more on Constant Content, if more people come and buy them in the future.
I like to predict an earnings outcome if I had more articles on a site, even though it could never really be too accurate a prediction, it's just fun to hope or wish that my prediction could or might be correct:
For example:
2 of my 7 articles on Constant Content have been sold 3 times each or 6 times in total, in under 7 months, earning me a total of $57.85 (currently about R399)
If I had 70 articles on Constant Content, and was offering them at similar prices to what I'm selling my 7 already on Constant Content, and also offered them with usage prices only, and 20 of them sold 3 times each (60 sales in total) in under 7 months, then what?
6 sales (as currently/recently happened) = $57.86 (about R399)
vs or compared to
60 sales = $578.60 (about R3 990 in 7 months)
700 articles on Constant Content and similar happened?
600 sales = $5 786 (about R39 900 in 7 months)
That would mean roughly $826 per month (currently roughly R5 698 per month)and every month after that.
Hm, how long would it take me to write and get 700 articles accepted for publication on Constant Content? Perhaps 4 a day if I wasn't doing other work at the same time, so that would take me about 175 days, or nearly 6 months. But if I was going to earn R5 698 per month thereafter, it would be worth it. What do I risk if it doesn't work out like I would like it to? Nothing really, because if I'm offering the articles with usage rights only, I can also publish them elsewhere online.
What's also nice to know about the fact that I'm offering my current 7 articles on Constant Content with usage rights only, on Constant Content, is that I do also have these same articles on some other sites, like Factoidz, Helium, and my own sites, where they are also earning me some income.
If you want to do something similar, I suggest start with Factoidz, as Factoidz does NOT accept previously published articles, but you are welcome to republish your Factoidz articles elsewhere 30 days later. You do not sell articles on Factoidz, but can earn some extra income from publishing your articles on Factoidz by earning small amounts from pageviews of your articles there, due to Factoidz sharing their ad revenue with you.) Also check their conditions and terms of use (that relates to any site, actually) as sites sometimes change their conditions and terms of use without notification. It is your duty to check a site's conditions and terms of use from time to time, to stay up to date with any changes made, and to avoid getting banned from being a member at the site.

Passive Income Earnings from 10 Helium Articles over 6 weeks
Helium is an online writing site I joined on 11 September 2010, so that's now 5 months and 15 days ago. I earn passive income from publishing my articles on Helium. Many of these articles of mine are also published on other sites, where they also earn me a passive income, but I'm reporting on just my passive income earnings from 10 Helium articles over the last 6 weeks, for now, here.
5 weeks and 6 days ago I reported on my top ten Helium article earnings since I submitted them to Helium. These are the ten I am going to again teport on here, even though some are no longer in my top ten earners as others I have submitted have crept up into my top ten Helium article earners, shifting some of my previous top ten down a bit.
Below is the same top ten list as before, but also now including how much more they've earned me over the past 6 weeks:
Google Adsense Testimonials
Published on Helium 24 Oct 2010 - 2 months and 20 days ago
$0.99
now, 6 weeks later (so now published just over 4 months ago) has earned me a total of $1.44 so that's $0.45 in the last 6 weeks
How to help your teen start a home-based business
Published on Helium 18 Sept 2010 - 3 months and 26 days ago
$0.82
now, 6 weeks later (so now published nearly 5 and a half months ago) has earned me a total of $0.86 so that's a mere further $0.04 in the last 6 weeks
How to make extra money selling at flea markets
Published on Helium 22 Sept 2010 - 3 months and 22 days ago
$0.65
now, 6 weeks later (so now published 5 months and 1 week ago) has earned me a total of $0.74 so that is just $0.09 in the last 6 weeks
Making a passive income from online writing
Published on Helium 23 October 2010 - 2 months and 21 days ago
$0.59
now, 6 weeks later (so now published 4 months and 1 week ago) has earned me a total of $0.67 so that's $0.08 over the last 6 weeks
Tips for hosting an outdoor children's birthday party
Published on Helium 15 Sept 2010 - 3 months and 29 days ago
$0.57
this Helium article of mine is currently no longer in my top ten earners (it's now in position 11 on my top earners list, since submission) - and it has earned me just $0.01 in the last 6 weeks
Easy ways to add exercise to your day
Published on Helium 24 Sept 2010 - 3 months and 20 days ago
$0.55

How to make money selling eBooks
Published on Helium 20 Sept 2010 - 3 months and 24 days ago

Published on Helium 15 Sept 2010 - 3 months and 29 days ago

Published on Helium 28 Sept 2010 - 3 months and 16 days ago

Still just making my top ten list in current postion 10, this article has earned me a further $0.12 in the last 6 weeks (total to date $0.59)
How Helium can improve: A writer's perspective
Published on Helium 7 Dec 2010 - 1 month and 6 days ago
$0.41
$0.38 earned in the last 6 weeks puts this article's earnings to date at $0.79
The ten article above had earned me a total of $6.05 since I first submitted them, when I added them up 6 weeks ago. Now they have earned me a further $1.32 in the last 6 weeks, bringing my total earnings from these 10, to date, since I first submitted them to Helium, to $7.37
I guess it doesn't sound like much, but what I like knowing is that they're just there, earning me a passive income (and on some other sites too, where I also have them published - their earnings I've reported on above are just from the Helium writing site.) I have other articles on Helium too; it's not just these ten I have on Helium.
For example, since 3 of the above articles are not currently on my top ten earners' list on Helium (earnings since first submitted them to Helium) which 3 are now currently in my top ten?
These 3:

Update on my Top 10 Helium article Earnings, 24 January 2011
Yes, I know, it's been only 11 days since I last reported on my top 10 Helium article earnings, but I'm a bit of a stats freak, so here's the latest on my Helium article earnings:
Well, the top 4 positions didn't change, and those 4 articles have earned me a further $0.17 in the last 11 days. The top one has earned me a further $0.11 of that $0.17, and the other 3 less, but totalling a $0.17 increase for the top 4.
Previous positions 5 and 6 have traded places.
The article that was in position 10 on my top 10 Helium article earnings list 11 days ago is now in position 8, having earned me $0.10 in the last 11 days.
11 days ago, my top 10 Helium article earnings, so far, was sitting at a total of $6.05 (since I first submitted them to Helium.) Although positioning has changed a bit, all of those ten are still my top ten earners on Helium, and are now sitting at a total of $6.40, meaning that those same ten articles have earned me a further $0.35 over the last 11 days.
It may not sound like much, but since I already did the work related to these article prior to first uploading them to Helium, it's nice to say that I earned a further $0.35 over the past 11 days for them. Even while I was sleeping, I was earning.
It's nice to imagine that I already had 1 000 articles on Helium, and although I can't possibly 100% accurately predict future earnings, as it may fluctuate, it's also nice to imagine that 1 000 articles on Helium might earn me $35 every 11 days, even if I added no new articles to Helium.
I have more than these 10 articles on Helium, but am just keeping track here of the top ten, so far. Many of my Helium articles also appear on other sites where they also earn me money.
I can withdraw my Helium earnings into my PayPal account every time my Helium earnings balance reaches $25. I can request my Helium payment to be released to my PayPal account twice per month, if I have at least $25 in my Helium account.
